This site is dedicated to creating and maintaining text2palm, an open source Windows front
end for the open source txt2pdbdoc program. txt2pdbdoc is for converting text files for
PC's back and forth from pdbdoc files for palm pilots. Open source means that they are
copyrighted under the GNU General Public License. That means that one is free to copy
and distribute the programs as long as one includes the source or a way to get it.
Unfortunately one needs a unix environment to use txt2pdbdoc.
My son installed MingW on my windows computer for me. It creates
.exe files that can be used in windows, from generic source files. So we built a
txt2pdbdoc.exe file from the generic source files.
Now we have a way of using the program, but one
needs to create a batch file with the txt2pdbdoc command with its parameters and execute
it. I plan to create and maintain text2palm, an open source Windows front end for
txt2pdbdoc.exe. The first step will be a program where one can drop the icon for a text
file or pdbdoc file on the icon for the text2palm program, and the other version of the
file will automatically appear. If you like the program, please tell me.
